It can also identify seven various listening environments automatically. This has resulted in an improved comfort for hearing aid users as the need to manually adjust the aids’ programs is diminished. In addition, its wide fitting range makes it suitable for the various degrees of the hearing losses from mild to profound. Signia Motion 7x BTE hearing aids Review

The Motion 7X is Signia’s traditional behind-the-ear (BTE) style hearing aid and offers great features for the user (see also Pure 7X review). This device has improved sound processing and noise management compared to its predecessor. It uses binaural beamforming technology to help improve clarity in noisy environments and aims to provide natural directionality.  A new feature offered is the “own voice processor” which aims to reduce issues with the patient’s voice and deliver a more natural sound. This issue commonly arises for new users who are not accustomed to new sounds and will aid the client in acclimatizing faster to hearing aids.

The device comes in a sleek design and offers buttons for controls if the user wishes. There is a rechargeable option for the device working similar to the Pure NX device (see other review). The product offers made-for-iPhone bluetooth connectivity, smartphone application and remotecare access. Streaming to non-apple products is possible but will require the additional purchase of accessories. Further, the device offers Signia’s new Notch therapy feature for tinnitus relief. This new technology aims to train the user’s brain to ignore the tinnitus rather than “drowning“ the sound out.  Overall, the Signia Motion 7X offers many great features and should be a consideration when looking for new hearing aids.

ReSound LiNX 9 3D IIC (invisible In The Canal) Hearing aids Review

ReSound’s most advanced and smallest hearing aid is the LiNX 9 3D invisible in the canal (IIC). It targets those with mild to moderate hearing loss and has all the features other LiNX 3D 9 products offer except for direct phone connectivity. Lack of direct phone connectivity is common for IIC aids due to size and if desired a larger style is required. The product provides excellent sound quality and reasonable noise reduction. It utilizes 360 degree processing and automatic programing to allow a more natural hearing experience and limit the management of the aid. The aid will not be able to have push buttons or volume control which some clients may desire.

ReSound recently brought out the updated LiNX Quattro range (see our other reviews). However, this new technology is not available to fit in this device (yet). Overall, this device may be suitable for you but will depend on your hearing results, shape of ear canal and lifestyle needs. When considering an IIC it is always best to consult with an audiologist first. If appropriate, the LiNX 9 3D IIC may be a good option for you.

Bernafon Viron 9 BTE hearing aids Review

The new Viron 9 BTE 105 hearing aid  was introduced in 2019 and has been a great addition to Bernafon’s product portfolio. Viron 9 BTE 105  is the industry’s first True Environment Processing hearing aid.

This hearing aid uses a completely new chip platform that delivers super-fast sound detection and processing so that users can receive more precise information about their environment in real time. It also has a new feedback cancellation system.

Viron 9 hearing aids can help with a wide range of hearing levels (from mild to profound) and offer features like Bluetooth connectivity, phone EasyControl-A application and rechargeable options.

With the rechargeable option, there is an option to change the device from rechargeable to non-rechargeable. I have found clients appreciate this ability for emergencies like when they forget to charge the hearing aids.

From a design point of view, Viron 9 9 BTE 105 hearing aids look like a more traditional hearing aid that needs updating. User controls are also bulky. Many clients like the ‘one program’ approach called DECS technology available in Viron 9 9 BTE hearing aids.

Like many other product, Viron 9 offers iPhone &/or Android Bluetooth connectivity. In conclusion, I would recommend Viron 9 hearing aids for the appropriate clients. I would recommend having a discussion with your audiologist to determine if this device is right for you.
